Yeo Hock Hin, 63 Inspire Others
Hock Hin was involved as a committee member in 2016 as a Happy Co-Facilitator. He aims to motivate and influence as many active agers as possible to create a positive mindset like him. In addition, he often encourages his peers to participate in U Live’s activities as this allows them to be engaged, make new friends and learn from their peers. Hock Hin shared that he would like to give back to the community by sharing his past experiences when opportunity arises so that they are able to relate and understand better through life experiences.
In the upcoming changing era, Hock Hin has highlighted that it’s difficult to avoid change. Nothing in this society is stagnant and hence, we have to accept, to adapt to the change and move on with our lives.

Tariam Singh, 69 Staying Relevant & Employable
Tariam Singh started his journey in 2014 though the Active 55+ Programme. He started developing interest in volunteerism through the Purposeful module and embarked in various initiatives for the community ever since.
He was groomed to co-facilitate the Purposeful module and was part of various ambassador development programmes through the years. Through his commitment and involvements he was selected to be part of key events such as U Live Symposium in 2016 as well as Walk for Wellness in 2017. He also trained as a U Live Cyber Guide where he assisted in co-facilitating smartphone and skills upgrading workshop for U Live members. Through U Live’s nomination, his contributions earned him the appointment as a Senior Infocom Wellness Ambassador (SIWA) under the Infocom Ministry this year.
When asked on how U Live programmes and trainings benefitted him, he mentioned that U Live has given him the opportunity to learn new things and he wants to pay it forward towards his peers. He found life more meaningful especially when helping them learn and cope with technology and its advancements. He felt that these platforms encouraged him to live life more productively and felt that it helped him to widen his circle of friends.

Zahrah Abdul Wahab, 58 Staying Relevant & Employable
Zahrah volunteered to be trained as a U Live Cyber Guide and was part of U Live’s Social Media Ambassador Development programme. As a Cyber Guide, Zahrah co-facilitated in a joint event with People’s Association where 300 seniors came together to learn about smartphone functions. She also stepped up to be the emcee of the event! Recently, Zahrah was given the opportunity to facilitate an ambassador-led talk to participants of 50 Plus Expo where she shared on the topic of “Smarter Communications with WhatsApp”. She is very forthcoming in learning new things and constantly looking for opportunity to grow and develop her capabilities. She connected well with U Live as she feels that U Live helped her to discover herself and gives her platforms to showcase her potential.

Francis Chiang, 64 Age Well, Age Positively
Francis Chiang started his journey with U Live since 2011. He participated in many interest-based engagements such as Cajon drumming and photography to challenge himself and to pick up new skills. His first performance was with a team of 3 members performing at 50+ Expo.
Francis has been very active with U Live and was part of an ambassador mentoring programme before it was revamped to the Active 55+ programme. His commitment to give back to the community earned him a spot to be part of a 10 member U Live Symposium Taskforce in 2015 and 2016.
As part of the U Live Symposium taskforce, Francis assisted in pre- event planning and also executed various tasks on the event day; ensuring that the event ran smoothly.
Francis is constantly forth coming in his contributions with U Live as he enjoys the activities that U Live provides through our leadership programmes and events. His recent involvement was with the U Live Social Media Ambassador team. As part of a team, Francis supported by covering U Live events and writing post-event coverage. Mohan Dass, 69 Inspire Others
Mohan got to know of U Live in 2009 and have passionately given back to the community ever since. One of his first involvements with U Live was to be trained as a Pasir Ris Mangrove Park ambassador where he conducts walks through the mangrove, sharing knowledge on eco-related topics. He also contributed and co-developed the Purposeful module within the Active 55+ programme alongside with the programme development team. As a flow-on leader, he shared knowledge on how to stay employable and continuously inspires others to be engaged and give back to the community.
With his wealth of experience, he was also part of the U Live Symposium 2015 and 2016 Committee, conceptualising and executing the event alongside with the other committee members. He mentioned that he is lucky to befriend fellow ambassadors and many peers while giving back to the community. Through this, he gets to mingle and learn from them and it has developed him for the better.

Caroline Moh, 60 Staying Relevant & Employable
Caroline Moh started her journey with U Live in 2012 through a Health & Wellness workshop held at City Square. She was attracted to attend due to her passion in fitness and wellness. Through this event, she got into the ambassador mentoring programme and subsequently started to be actively involved in U Live activities and programmes.
Caroline’s involvement with U Live varies from volunteering at key events such as 50+ Expo, U Live Symposium 2012 to 2015, to performing at Istana, to co-facilitating workshops and even leading the Zumba workout for Walk for Wellness and nEbO W.I.S.H event.
Other that volunteering her time for U Live events, Caroline upgraded her commitment by becoming part of 10-member task force for U Live Symposium 2015. Recently, Caroline also facilitated her first workshop that covers employment matters as well as teaching members on productive apps that can be used at work.
Caroline is now part of the Social Media Ambassador Team where she advocates to her peers on the importance of embracing IT and staying relevant through technology. Caroline loves to challenge herself and finds pleasure in stepping outside of her comfort zone to learn new things. She have been very committed to U Live as she believes that through U Live programmes and activities, she is able to try out different things and develop her potential fully.

Chee Hock Wah, 60 Age Well, Age Positively
Chee is currently a Business IT lecturer at Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and is always spotted with a broad smile on his face. He enjoys going around the sunny island with his trusty camera exploring picturesque places during his free time.
His interest in photography sparked in 2012 when he was in China, Xiamen, with his students for a 5-week immersion study trip. Since then, he never failed to bring his ‘essential gear’ (consisting of 2 cameras and a few interchangeable lens) wherever he goes, be it overseas or in Singapore. He went on to register his interest to be developed as a U Live Photography Ambassador in 2015 and has been actively giving back to the community since. He also leads photography outings specially catered for seniors age 55 and above. Chee was one of the committee members organising the Photography Outing to the Old Bukit Timah Railway Station on 18 June 2016.
He shared that he is glad to be able to share his knowledge with other budding photographers, and he finds it’s a rewarding journey too. You will be sure to see Chee around, as he often volunteers to be U Live event photographer at our key event.

Jenny Toh,68 Inspire Others
Jenny Toh is a retiree who has been active with U Live as a U Live trainer and ambassador since 2011.
Jenny contributes by training new ambassadors to give back towards the community. With the changing times, she is able to adapt to changes and impart her knowledge to members and ambassadors alike. On top of giving back to U Live, she also does brisk walking, bowling and join technology-related classes with her friends during her free time. She is a role model to her peers as she embraces total wellness through her lifestyle. She also conducts regular talks on positive ageing to highlight the importance of total wellness. Jenny shares that she would like to continue to inspire her peers and embrace lifelong learning for as long as she can.
