U Live
The Energetic and Exciting Community for Senior Workers and Retirees! 

The drive towards creating an energetic and exciting community for active agers, took a quantum leap in the Labour Movement in 2009.  The U Live community was initiated to specially engage all seniors workers as well as retirees, aged 55 years and above, in the areas of Work, Live and Play.

To be a part of this vibrant community is to embrace life Happily, Healthily, Productively and Purposefully.  Aligned with the Labour Movement to be all inclusive and with a life-long membership, the U Live community is all about staying connected with family and friends through numerous activities and remaining active, so as lead a well balanced life across all dimensions of wellness – social, intellectual, physical, vocational, emotional and spiritual. All that is needed is a valid NTUC membership and this community could be yours, whether you are working or retired.

Since 1995, activities have been organised for the silver collar and retirees in support of active ageing and to promote the well-being of seniors. With the U Live community and its comprehensive engagement programme, it is the intent to help our active agers to enhance their lifestyle positively and dynamically.


Interest Groups and Privileges

With the emphasis to promote a healthy, enriching and balanced lifestyle, the U Live community has carefully designed various interest groups for our active agers to cater to their interests and hobbies as well as to widen their circle of friends. Interest groups such as Golden Bowl (Bowling), Just Travel (Traveling), Eco Club (Gardening), Gourmet Club (Food-lovers), Golden Eye (Photography), Brisk-Walking Club and the Green Swingers Team (Golfers), are just some of the groups that are well-received by our members. Presently, we have more than 20 interests groups that you can choose to be a part of; whether your interests is to learn to play an instrument, look for a new travel experience or simply wanting to spent more time with your partner or like minded individuals in the community. With the wide variety of interest groups, rest assured that there will be something interesting and relevant to suit the needs and preferences of all members of the community.

U Live Membership
  1. What benefits do I enjoy as a member of the U Live community ?
    The U Live community will enjoy all existing benefits that Union members are entitled to and in addition, members of the U Live community will also be given additional age-specific enhanced benefits (please refer to section on Benefits and Privileges).
  2. How do I enjoy these additional benefits as a part of the U Live community?
    To enjoy the additional benefits, simply produce your U Card to our partner organizations, with the U Live sticker affixed on the back of the card.

  3. What is U Live?
    It is a new engagement platform under the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) family, specifically for Senior Citizens aged 55 years and above. The U Live community promotes active ageing among its members to achieve a better quality lifestyle, with age-specific enhanced benefits and engagement through a wide variety of activities and interest groups.
  4. Who can be a part of the U Live community?
    All Union members aged 55 years and above are eligible to be a part of the U Live community.
  5. Do I have to pay additional membership fee to be a part of U Live?
    There is no additional membership fee to be a part of U Live, as long as you are currently a Union member and aged 55 years and above. If you are not a Union member, to be a part of this vibrant community, the fee will be $117 per year.
  6. Is there an expiry date to being a part of U Live?
    There is no expiry date. You will be a part of  and engaged as a member of the U Live community as long as you remain a Union member.
  7. How is Associate Branch (AB) membership different from U Live?
    The Associate Branch (AB) membership is only open to retirees aged 62 years old & above whereas U Live is opened to those aged 55 years old and above.

    Although both are targeted at senior citizens, there are significant differences in the benefits offered to its members.

    Currently, Associate Branch (AB) members enjoy only the basic benefits offered by NTUC, as well as being able to earn LinkPoints. Additionally, AB members also can enjoy activities organised by the 3rd Chapter. 

    Unlike AB membership, the U Live community focuses on promoting active ageing to enable seniors to achieve a better quality lifestyle. The U Live community offers age-specific enhanced benefits, on top of the existing benefits that all Ordinary Branch (OB) and General Branch (GB) members enjoy, and engages its members in a wide variety of activities.  These activities or interest groups will be organized to encourage the U Live community to stay engaged with friends, family and society, remain within the Labour Movement and lead a meaningful life.
  8. I am an AB member, can I apply to be a part of U Live?
    Yes. The U Live community  is open to all senior citizens aged 55 years old & above.
    A special conversion fee package has been put together for AB members to convert their membership to be a part of U Live.
  9. What is the special conversion fee package to convert my AB membership to U Live?
    As an existing AB member, U Live is offering you a special promotion rate of just $20 per year.
  10. What if I have already paid my annual subscription fee as an AB member? Can I use this advance payment to off-set the payment for conversion of my AB membership to U Live?
    Unfortunately, this cannot be done. However, before the expiry of your AB membership, you will receive a letter of offer to convert to U Live. Upon taking up this offer to join the U Live community, you will be entitled to the special conversion fee package mentioned above.
  11. How soon do I need to convert to U Live once I have received the letter of offer?
    You are encouraged to convert within 3 months upon receipt of the letter of offer.
  12. Is conversion of my AB membership to U Live compulsory?
    No, it is not compulsory. You may choose not to convert your AB membership to U Live. However, the current benefits shall cease upon the expiry of your AB membership.
  13. If I choose not to convert my AB membership to U Live, can I renew my AB membership when it expires?
    The current AB membership scheme will cease upon expiry and therefore, there will be no AB membership renewal.
  14. What is the reason I cannot renew my AB membership anymore? I have been an AB member for many years and I do not want to convert to U Live.
    The current AB membership scheme is being enhanced to provide members with the full range of benefits that NTUC members enjoy. As such, AB membership will gradually be phased out and in its place will be U Live. U Live community members will enjoy NTUC benefits, special age-specific enhanced benefits, many lifeskill and lifestyle activities that will be both rewarding and enhance their lifestyle.
  15. My AB Membership has expired some time ago. Would I still be able to enjoy the special conversion fee package?
    Yes. The special conversion fee package to U Live, will be extended to you since you were previously an AB member.
  16. Can an AB member get to enjoy the age-specific enhanced benefits?
    No, only members of the U Live community are entitled to the age-specific enhanced benefits as well as all other benefits extended to NTUC Ordinary Branch (OB) and General Branch (GB) members*.

  1. What should I do if my U Live sticker is damaged, lost or stolen?
    You should report the loss or damage to the NTUC Customer Service Centre at No 1 Marina Boulevard #B1-01, One Marina Boulevard. Alternatively, you may call our
    Customer Service Hotline at 6213-8008 or email membership@ntuc.org.sg for
    assistance to general enquiries.

  3. Do I have to pay a replacement fee for my lost or damaged U Live sticker?
    It will be complimentary for the first replacement; subsequent replacement of stickers will be chargeable with an administrative fee of $3 (inclusive of GST).
